Hare and Crocodile
This story originates from Wakiso district, located in the central part of Uganda, which is primarily inhabited by the Baganda people who speak the Luganda language. In Buganda culture, there are numerous tales about Hare the trickster, which are often shared with children for both entertainments and to teach valuable life lessons.
The story follows Crocodile, whose mother falls gravely ill and requires a new heart. Out of his love for his mother, Crocodile sets out on a mission to find a new heart for her. After much searching, he finally discovers a way to obtain the new heart and save his mother's life.
