Sarah Gets a Boda Boda
Sarah Gets a Boda Boda
As children mature, societal norms dictate certain gender-based expectations, whereby boys and girls are taught to behave in particular ways. Unfortunately, cultural stereotypes sometimes dissuade children from pursuing certain activities.
Moreover, as children progress into adulthood, they may avoid certain jobs in the informal sector, especially if they have completed formal education.
This story acknowledges the challenges present in society and aims to encourage children to embrace their aspirations and recognize that they can achieve anything they set their minds to.
The story follows Sarah, who dreams of becoming like her father, a boda boda rider living in the city. Despite living with her grandparents in the village, when Sarah confides in her grandfather, he takes it upon himself to provide her with a boda boda to support her dream.
